In accordance with our Bylaws, California Cake Club holds a minimum of four general membership meetings per year. Our meetings are usually on Saturday combined with a special hands-on class held on Sunday to make a full weekend event. While we have flexibility on the actual dates of our meetings we are also bound by the Bylaws to hold a meeting in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. During Cake Camp years our summer meeting is held at the banquet. This is where you come in. We need hosts for our quarterly meetings.
The board is seeking new venues for our meetings. You don’t need to be a shop owner to host a CCC meeting. Our January 2014 meeting was held in the warehouse of CalJava. We have a “Hosting a CCC Meeting Guidelines” that can be sent to any interested person (contact Kevie White). In general, we use a facility beginning Saturday morning around 9 am through 5 pm. The venue should have seating for 40-50 people comfortably to view demonstrations. A local restaurant or caterer is necessary for our Saturday evening dinner and meeting. On Sunday we need the facility again from around 9 am through 2pm for the hand-on class and breakfast.
During the entire weekend we need 4-8 demonstrators. Typically the meeting host is responsible for selecting and arranging the demonstrators. Everyone has something they can share, why not you?? We need some new faces and ideas. Don’t think we’ve already seen a topic. We can always learn something. As a thanks for sharing your time and talents when you demonstrate, your dinner will be free. Your demonstration must be at least 45 minutes to qualify for the complimentary meal.
